Creamy Ranch Dressing

If you know my family, you know that we like to know exactly what we are eating right down to the basic ingredients. We finally got tired to not knowing how to pronounce the ingredients on the back of the ranch dressing bottle and decided to make our own.
Our family doesn't eat a lot of cheese, butter, yogurt, or other dairy products so this ranch dressing is used as a substitute for those things over taco salad, spaghetti, baked potato, etc...

Measuring out a cup of mayonnaise and a cup of butter milk isn't hard if you have a container with measurement on the side like ours. We have two of them and they both came from Tupperware, they've lasted for years and are perfect for all types of dressings.

We LOVE our spices and this recipe calls for a few: onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper and parsley. I've written the measurements for each spice down below in the recipe, but to tell the truth, we don't really measure. We pour, pinch and sprinkle with a taste or two in between until it's how we like it.

Add the designated spices until it reaches maximum tastiness :)

And there you have it! Ranch dressing in less than five minutes, AND you know exactly what's in it and feel good after eating it especially if you eat it over a tasty looking salad like the one below. Mm-mm! Now that's one Mormish salad if you ask me...

Ingredients:
   1 cup Buttermilk
   1 cup Mayonnaise
   1/2 tsp salt
   1/2 tsp garlic powder
   1/2 tsp onion powder
   Dash or two of pepper
   Parsley to taste

Directions:
Mix it all together in a container that can be easily poured from. Don't feel like you have to follow the spice requirements to the letter because we definitely don't. Just do what tastes right and good. Toss up a good green salad or taco salad and apply dressing generously.
